white coat

Last weekend was Dylans white coat ceremony.

86 white coats...ready to be worn to clinic

the venue for the ceremony
Receiving a white coat in optometry school means a few things:

1) we had visitors for the weekend...wahoo.

jill and leon hatfield, waiting for the ceremony to begin...and people watching.

2) Dylan starts working in clinic and seeing ACTUAL PATIENTS.

3) we're halfway done with school... and I do mean 'we.'  It's been a collaborative effort.

goofing off during the ceremony.

and again...some things never change.

4) I got a new (to me) outfit for the ceremony (although there are no good pictures of it...it's really cute. dark coral, Fossil silk dress. $3.99 goodwill).

the guys.

the girls.

5) even though he'll be sporting a white coat, he is not a dr...yet.  So feel free to continue calling him Dylan, not Dr. Hatfield (dad, that clarification is for you).  Oh, and you can call me Tracy....not Mrs. Dr. Hatfield.

i don't know what is going on with my hair...it was windy.
It was a wonderful weekend and we're so proud of Dylan for his hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

xo,
tracy

  1. Congratulations to both of you!! I may be biased, but I definitely think it's harder to be the supportive wife...but you look fabulous doing it. Great find on the dress by the way :o)

  2. I'm glad you girls didn't stand in hight-order like the guys did... that would have been wierd. Your dress is adorable. Yeah for being halfway over, what a great night for both of you. You captured the moment well with your pictures.

  3. Yesss. i'm so proud of you both. mostly you, Mrs. Dr. Hatfield. i know you said we could continue to call you by your first names, but i really like the sound of doctor. congrats to you! xoxo

ps..i thought the picture of the "girls" was a picture of female student's in dyl's class. then i saw you and put two and two together. i'm so smart. i should be a doctor.
